Alter Peter, Munich

On another sunny day Sheila insisted to walk up on the tower of Munichs most iconic church, the “Alter Peter” (Old Pete) in the center of Munich, next to the Marienplatz and the Munich city hall.

On top of the “Münchner Rathaus” you find the “Münchner Kindl”, a iconic symbol of Munich which also joins the “Tachtenumzug” for the Munich Oktoberfest.

The “Münchner Kindl” appears in this music video.

To continue to take pictures of all sites in the mentioned video Sheila today climbed up on the tower of the “Alter Peter” the oldes documented church in Munich, which offers a splendid view over the inner city of Munich and also a good one of the Kindl on to of Munich’s city hall. The weather was great. “Der Alte Peter”, the “Hofbräuhaus“, the “Wiesn” Oktoberfest and the Müchner Kindl appear in the popular song, “Solang der alte Peter“, parts of which are still the jingle recognition song ot the “Bayerischer Rundunk” (radio, TV Broadcaster of Bavaria).

View to the “Frauenkirche” (abbey) and down to the Marienplatz.
