Mount Kilimanjaro

The ducks all reached the top! Very well done!

The duck nurse tested oxygen levels on all humans twice daily.

And also took care of feeding the humans.

It got pretty foggy down at 4000 meters in the afternoon.

The ducks really enjoyed the trip up, and somewhat resisted going down again.

Zanzibar

The ducks went diving in Zanzibar!

Mafia Island

Mafia Island is part of the Tanzanian Spice Islands, together with Zanzibar and Pemba. As one of the six districts of the Pwani Region, Mafia Island is governed from the mainland, not from the semi-autonomous region of Zanzibar, of which it has never been considered to be a part.

The name “Mafia” derives from the Arabic morfiyeh, meaning “group” or “archipelago”, or from the Swahili mahali pa afya, meaning “a healthy dwelling-place”.

Mount Hanang

Mount Hanang is the fourth highest mountain in Tanzania. It is 3417 meters high, but still much lower than Kilimanjaro, which is the next mountain this rubber duck is heading for 🙂
