The Great Wall at Simatai

Andrine and Andrik visited the Great Wall at Simatai, a couple of hours north of Beijing. This is the last photo taken of Andrik – he fell off the wall just seconds after the photo was taken. R.I.P.

Lake Baikal

Andrik and Andrine swimming in Lake Baikal, the world’s second most voluminous lake, after the Caspian Sea. It is the most voluminous freshwater lake in the world with an average depth of 744 m and contains a total of roughly 20 percent of the world’s surface fresh water.

Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Moscow

The Cathedral of the Protection of Most Holy Theotokos on the Moat (Russian: Собор Покрова пресвятой Богородицы, что на Рву), popularly known as Saint Basil’s Cathedral (Russian: Собор Василия Блаженного), is a Russian Orthodox cathedral erected on the Red Square in Moscow in 1555–1561.
